The Somali welfare Entrepreneurship and Skills Centre (SWESC) is proud to continue the implementation of Cohort Two of the Solar Installation Training under the IMPACT Project, which officially commenced on 1st May 2026 in Hudur District, Bakool Region.
The six-month training program is equipping vulnerable youth from IDPs, host communities, returnees, and persons with disabilities (PwDs) with practical, market-oriented skills in renewable energy. The training combines both theoretical learning and hands-on practical sessions, enabling trainees to gain the knowledge, confidence, and technical competence required to install, maintain, and troubleshoot solar energy systems.
Throughout the training, participants have demonstrated remarkable commitment, enthusiasm, and teamwork. Their growing technical skills and active participation reflect the program’s positive impact in preparing young people for employment and self-employment opportunities in Somalia’s expanding renewable energy sector.
SWESC remains committed to promoting inclusive, quality Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) that empowers communities, strengthens livelihoods, and contributes to climate resilience and sustainable development
